A Fully Managed EAM Platform, Built and Supported by Asset Management Specialists

IT and systems leaders face growing pressure when upgrading or replacing an EAM platform. Budget constraints, legacy system dependencies, and fragmented asset data can each derail a project timeline, while security and compliance requirements add further complexity for organisations managing critical infrastructure. COSOL has spent more than 25 years designing and running EAM environments for organisations that cannot afford unplanned downtime.

EAMaaS is not simply software in the cloud. It is a fully managed service that covers the platform, the software, and the people who support it, so your specialists can focus on assets instead of infrastructure.

Each EAMaaS subscription includes:
Enterprise Asset Management or EAM.

Fully Managed Cloud EAMaaS Platform

Responsibility for system design and maintenance is transferred to COSOL while your organisation accesses the software via the cloud. We take care of things like software patching, backups, security, availability and performance.

COSOL’s EAMaaS platforms include:

  • 99.99% uptime service level agreements
  • mature backup and disaster recovery
  • ISO 27017 and ISO 27001 certification and cyber security
  • 24/7 platform monitoring.

Productivity Accelerators

Built on more than 25 years of asset management experience across utilities, mining, infrastructure, and transportation, COSOL's Productivity Accelerators are pre-configured components that speed up implementation. Accelerators will vary according to your industry, legacy EAM systems and operational maturity, but may include:

  • Asset Classification structures by industry
  • Standardised units of measure
  • Naming conventions
  • Failure codes
  • Work order priorities and work types
  • Report Dashboards
  • Start Centre configuration

Software and Integrations

EAMaaS supports leading EAM and ERP platforms including IBM Maximo Application Suite, SAP PM/EAM, and Hitachi Ellipse. It also connects related technologies such as Esri ArcGIS, webMethods Integration Platform, and FME by Safe Software. Licensing is available as part of your subscription, or you can bring existing licence entitlements into COSOL's cloud.

Managed Support Services

COSOL's Managed Support Services cover the full lifecycle of your EAM platform, from a 24/7 service desk and incident resolution to proactive monitoring and patching. Our specialists act as your single point of contact with IBM, SAP or Ellipse, managing licence compliance, PMR submission, and product roadmap alignment. Evergreen Release Management keeps your platform current, covering planning, testing, deployment, and hypercare support for each upgrade.

Relevant for: IT leaders and EAM managers who need dependable, single-vendor support instead of managing multiple vendors and internal resources.

Service Level Management and Reporting

Every EAMaaS subscription is measured against clear service levels, including system availability and priority-based resolution targets. Regular reporting keeps your team informed without chasing updates, and quarterly service reviews ensure targets are met and continuously improved, not just maintained.
Choose Your Platform
EAMaaS supports three market-leading platforms, so your organisation can choose the software that fits your operations without changing how the service is delivered.

Benefits of EAMaaS

One of the biggest benefits of EAMaaS is the freeing up of your teams to focus on their core competencies and tasks, as opposed to worrying about IT management. By transitioning to an ‘as a Service’ model, you can leverage market-leading technologies in an environment that is always up-to-date without needing to hire expensive and difficult-to-find technical specialists.
Lower cost of entry
With EAMaas, simply pay for what you need – there is no need to buy expensive hardware or purchase licences. In addition, internal resources aren’t required to set up the hardware or install the software.
Faster time to value
EAMaaS reduces time to upgrade and allows organisations to easily and quickly scale. New technologies and functionality are readily available, as is our expert advice when you need it.
Reduced ongoing cost
Save money on refreshing and upgrading IT hardware and have predictable longer team costs. Internal resources (who previously managed and maintained applications and the database) can be refocused on more strategic priorities. Easily scale and update to meet business demands or take advantage of new technology/functionality.
Accessibility
Applications are accessible from anywhere at any time allowing your employees to be productive when they’re not in an office environment.
Superior Security
EAMaaS deployments are generally more secure than hosting on-premises due to the economies of scale that cloud vendors can achieve, resulting in security expertise and capabilities beyond what many businesses can afford.
Reliability and performance
Because EAMaaS contracts are governed by service level agreements that include application uptime commitments, responsibility for the ongoing tasks that keep your application operational and performing smoothly – such as performance monitoring and tuning, backup and recovery – rests solely with the service provider.

What Makes COSOL Different in Enterprise Asset Management as a Service

Deep Platform and Industry Expertise
COSOL has worked across IBM Maximo Application Suite, SAP PM/EAM, and Hitachi Ellipse for more than 25 years, supporting utilities, transport, government, defence, and natural resources. Our specialists understand the operational reality of asset-intensive industries, shaped by years working inside them.
Productivity Accelerators Built for Faster Delivery
Our Productivity Accelerators are pre-configured components built on decades of asset management delivery, covering everything from asset classification to failure codes. They reduce implementation time and are exclusive to COSOL, helping your team avoid building configuration from the ground up.
Accountable Delivery, Not Just Software
COSOL has supported EAM and asset information ecosystems for more than 25 years, with local teams in Australia delivering follow-the-sun coverage. We stay accountable for the platform after go-live, measured against defined service levels rather than a one-time handover. And Because EAMaaS is governed by service level agreements, the ongoing work of keeping your system available and performing well rests with COSOL, not your internal team. Every subscription is backed by defined targets, transparent reporting, and rapid escalation paths.
Proprietary IP You Can't Get Anywhere Else
RPConnect, OnPlan, and EAM Intelligence are owned and continuously developed by COSOL, not licensed or resold. They extend your EAMaaS environment with migration, digital work management, and predictive analytics capability built specifically for asset-intensive industries.

Trusted by organisations across utilities, infrastructure, transport, and defence.

"COSOL and the EAMaaS service consolidated the mess and enabled us to address hand back requirements at end of contract with absolute certainty. A highly recommended service offering supported by an equally dedicated team."

Wannon Water manages 240,000 assets and reports performance directly to the Essential Services Commission. Data integrity is a regulatory requirement - not an aspiration. When support for Maximo 7.6 was ending, the organisation was also carrying years of accumulated technical debt from a previous vendor, and needed its mobile solution replaced at the same time. There was no tolerance for data loss or operational disruption.

Purpose-Built EAM Live in 10 Weeks for America's Premier Rail Research Facility

  • ENSCO manages daily operations at the Federal Railroad Administration's (FRA) Transportation Technology Center in Pueblo, Colorado, one of the most significant rail research and testing facilities in the United States.

  • When ENSCO won the maintenance contract in 2022, they inherited fragmented data, outdated systems, and no way to align asset management to their own operations. With only raw spreadsheets to work from, maintaining reliability was a challenge.

  • COSOL delivered EAMaaS on IBM Maximo Application Suite 9.0, pre-configured and managed by asset experts in the cloud. The gold standard configuration methodology removed the implementation burden from ENSCO entirely, taking the system from contract to go-live in 10 weeks.

The result: Live on the latest MAS platform in 10 weeks, with FRA collaboration enabled, mobile workforce capability activated, and a self-service portal replacing manual email-based work requests.

Arch Resources - Mining

From Over-Budget Upgrades to a Predictable Annual Cycle

  • Arch Resources is a premier metallurgical coal producer operating large-scale mines across the United States. Their Ellipse EAM and ERP system had fallen behind, carrying years of custom code and workarounds with no clear upgrade path.

  • Previous migrations had been significantly over budget, missed deadlines, and disrupted operations, leaving users with little confidence in Ellipse as a viable long-term platform.

  • COSOL delivered the migration through the Evergreen subscription model. Designed, managed, and supported by asset experts in the cloud, Evergreen removed the resourcing burden from Arch entirely. COSOL handled pre-testing, version selection, and a Priority 1 issue resolved before go-live, completing initiation and implementation in 16 weeks.

The result: System downtime reduced from 60+ hours to 13 hours on the first Evergreen upgrade, then to 8 hours on the second, delivered on time and on budget both times, with Arch now committed to an annual upgrade cycle.

"My advice to others considering the COSOL EAMaaS solution is don’t wait. Evergreen enables scheduled incremental Ellipse version advancements that enable rather than distract our day-to-day business."

- Brent Grant
Materials Manager
Arch Resources, Inc.

"Long story short. EAMaaS has been a game changer."

Is This the Right Time for Enterprise Asset Management as a Service?

Most organisations start this conversation when their current EAM setup is creating more risk than value. The following situations are common triggers for exploring COSOL’s EAMaaS.
  • Your budget, internal resourcing, or implementation expertise is limiting progress on an EAM upgrade or new deployment.
  • Legacy systems and data silos are making it hard to get a reliable view of your asset information.
  • You are concerned about future scalability as your organisation or project grows.
  • You want to prepare your data and systems now so you're ready to adopt AI and predictive analytics, rather than retrofitting a fragmented foundation later.
  • Security and compliance risks around your EAM platform are becoming harder to manage internally.
  • Your current hosting or support arrangement feels fragmented, with no single point of accountability.
  • Your project is moving into an operate and maintain phase and needs to scale EAM support accordingly.
  • You're facing end-of-life deadlines for your system, and need a clear path forward for your asset management environment.
Early engagement gives COSOL more room to design the right platform and support model for your environment, rather than retrofitting a solution under pressure.

INSIGHTS: Not Sure Where To Start?

Most organisations know their current EAM setup is creating risk long before they have a clear plan to fix it. The logical first step is a conversation with one COSOL’s EAM Ellipse, Maximo or SAP specialists, who can assess your current platform, support model, and data environment, and identify where EAMaaS can reduce risk and cost fastest.
