Asset Management Maturity Uplift
Too many teams are not getting the results their operation demands, and don't have a clear, agreed view of why.
Your people are working hard, but breakdowns keep occurring, reactive work keeps climbing, and when leadership asks what needs to change, there is no clear, agreed answer.
This is not a people problem. It is a maturity problem, and with the right structure, it is entirely fixable.

The Maturity Uplift Program
COSOL's Asset Management Maturity Uplift is a structured program that gives asset-centric organisations a clear view of where they are, what is holding them back, and exactly what to do about it - across people, process, data, and systems.
The program combines four interconnected capability areas into a single, cohesive uplift - tailored to your sector, whether that is mining, utilities, transport, infrastructure, defence, or government. Our four capability areas below can be engaged individually or as part of the complete program, and the scope and pace are always shaped around your deadlines, priorities, and internal capacity. COSOL's advisory team has delivered engagements ranging from four weeks to four months - all with one goal: an operation that runs reliably, every day.
Of Where You stand
Asset Management Assessment & Improvement Plan
The diagnostic starting point. COSOL's proprietary Assessment toolkit evaluates your operation across 20 competency areas - spanning strategy, work management, data, systems, and people - and produces a scored, evidence-based view of where the gaps are and which ones matter most. The output is a prioritised, phased roadmap for the next 0–24 months, with a value case for each initiative tied directly to production, uptime, and cost.
This is where we encourage all our customers to begin every Maturity Uplift project.

Master Data Diagnostic
A COSOL Master Data Diagnostic gives your team four things:
- A detailed assessment of master data quality across the business processes where data gaps are creating the most operational impact - commonly maintenance planning and execution, materials and spares management, shutdown management, or procurement and supply chain
- A prioritised data remediation plan, sequenced by business impact
- An assessment of your current master data governance against best practice, covering people, process, and technology
- An executable roadmap to uplift master data governance, aligned to measurable business value

The scope is always shaped around where your operation is hurting most. For asset-centric operations, the highest-impact areas our COSOL advisors investigate most frequently are equipment and asset master data, bill of materials integrity, spare parts taxonomy and catalogue quality, preventive maintenance task lists, and failure coding structure - all of which directly affect planning quality, work execution, and the reliability of operational reporting.
When your data is reliable, your decisions are too.
AM Standards & Frameworks
If your asset management standards exist on paper but are not consistently embedded in daily practice (or do not exist in a usable form) our asset management specialists at COSOL develop the standards, procedures, and governance frameworks your operation needs to make improvement repeatable and sustainable, independent of any individual's knowledge or tenure.
Standards and frameworks are what protect reliability when people change, conditions shift, and pressure mounts.
Master Data Strategy & Standards
Shark Bay Salt were dealing with a tough operating environment - fixed assets corroding in a coastal salt environment, and a work management process that wasn't giving the team a reliable foundation to plan and execute against. When we ran the diagnostic, it became clear quickly that planning execution was where the biggest gains were. We didn't just hand over a report - we stayed involved and worked alongside their team to redesign how work was planned and executed on site and developed maintenance strategies for their most critical assets. They needed a practical plan they could afford to implement, and that's what we built."
